History of Ahore

Ahore was a part of Marwar in early 17th century. Its been said that this portion of marwar was gifted to Champawat clan or Rajputs from Champawat jati by the king of Marwar. Historically Ahore was a cluster of 20 to 25 villages. The name "Ahore" is spiritually connected with the famous "Avari Mata" (Goddess Avari), or Avar Mata. Its been said that Avari Mata incarnated at this place in form of a stone idol, the idol was graved inside a farm land. One day while working in farms a farmer noticed this idol and established the same in a small temple. This temple is now known as the heart of Ahore.
